These are my beautiful Apsara from Siem Reap in Cambodia. They are celestial dancers from the Hindu story about the churning of the sea of milk. I fell in love with them while visiting a school that teaches children from very poor, rural backgrounds traditional crafts so they can earn a living. The depict such elegant energy.
I resisted their charms but never forgot them. Luckily neither did Mosh and he bought me them for my birthday and had them shipped over.
OK so its my birthday this weekend and as anyone who knows me will tell you: I love my birthday. Don't get the whole depression about being a year older thing, I say good excuse to have some fun, get together with friends, spoil yourself and Mosh has to be nice to me. If I'm good I'll get some pressies too. What isn't to like about that?
As it falls in the middle of a bank holiday weekend the celebrations start today. Yay!
But birthday aside I was looking at my calender and I've got a lot of good things in the diary for this month. There are two concerts: Apples in Stereo and Manic Street Preachers.
A bit of comedy in the form of stand up Michael McIntyre.
I'm going to an awards ceremony which is black tie so I can wear my posh frock - my magazine has been nominated but I'll be extremely surprised if we win.
Then there is reunion with some of the people Mosh and I met in Thailand and Cambodia a couple of years ago and Mosh's fives dinner at the fantastic Indian restaurant Sadya.
There is a mystery evening that Mosh has bought us tickets for - all revealed on Sunday, I hope.
And to finish it off we are going to visit our friends Nick and Sophie in Cardiff for the weekend.
If I get my arse into gear there may be one or two theatre visits thrown in for good measure as there are a couple of plays on this month I really want to see. One is an adaptation of Vernon God Little which I thought was an excellent book.
I'd say June is going to be an anti-climax but June is Muse month...
Just seen a story on BBC News 24 about this 'Skywalk' opening at the Grand Canyon.
Last week I tried to take a photo from the fifth floor balcony of the hotel I was staying in and could barely hold the camera steady and was struggling to control my breathing. And this is fairly mild for me. Usually my hands start sweating, my legs shake and and I feel unstable to the point of needing to hold on.
I froze a third of the way up on the famous flight of steep steps to the top level of Angkor Wat in Cambodia and had to be helped down.
There is no doubt I would give Skywalk a go. I am determined to not let my fear stop me at least trying.
However, I can guarantee any photo I tried to take would be blurred.
Last Christmas Mosh and I went on our first ever organised tour with a company called Explore. It was a great trip through Thailand and Cambodia with some fantastic experiences. Some, such as a night on a old wreck of a rice barge, sleeping on the floor underneath a hole-riddled mosquito net, which I'm happy to keep as a memory rather than something to be experienced again!
Last week we had a reunion with some of our fellow travellers. We've met up with some of the group before but there were a couple of faces we hadn't seen since Bangkok.
