Show us the five people you'd invite to a dinner party.
Firstly I'd like a couple of my best friends, Jen and Nadia, just to keep things on a level and to act as a bit of sanity when I was completely star struck:
Then I'd invite Kate Winslet because I'm a big admirer of her work and when we'd exhausted that topic I could quiz her about working with the likes of Leonardo Dicaprio and Ewan McGregor to name just two.
And to make a bonkers occasion even more mental it would have to be the brilliantly funny Ross Noble.
Finally, someone who'd be worth a dinner party all on his own for the stuff I'd like to ask him, the deliciously talented Ben Whishaw.
Perhaps the next vox hunt should be show us what you'd cook for your fantasy dinner party...
Oh I do miss working in Soho. Popping out to get some lunch and walking past the likes of Britney and Ewan McGregor. You just don't get that working in Holborn, its all tourists, students and suits.
So there I was in Soho this evening meeting Mosh, who's working up in town, for a drink and who do I see, none other than Danny Glover strolling down Rathbone Place chatting away merrily on his mobile. He's an idol by default in my eyes because I used to be a huge Mel Gibson fan before he went a bit mental and loved the Lethal Weapon films.
Describe the last time you were "on stage."
It was at the Donmar Warehouse in front of an almost full house.
Nads, J, Jen and I were running a little late having enjoyed a rather large sausage platter and beer at the Bunker Bar next door and the quickest way to get to our seats was the walk across the stage.
If it's good enough for Ewan McGregor...
Just been to see Othello at the Donmar Warehouse, a theatre so small you can tell when the actors are looking you in the eye. And what actors: Chiwetal Ejiofor, Ewan McGregor and Kelly Reilly.
Acted with all the animation, subtlety and spit that befits Shakespeare and with cod piece and heaving bosom aplenty it is a tale of the worst of human emotions: jealousy and revenge and it's tragic consequences.
The machiavellan Iago (McGregor) looked over for promotion by Othello (Ejiofor) expertly plots his revenge, at first subtely sowing the seeds of doubt about his wife Desdemona's (Reilly) fidelity and then rapidly reeling Othello and his unwitting helpers into his web of lies.
Othello was played as man of passionate personality, but ultimately someone who is insecure and proud, whose pride once pricked is savagely wounded.
Iago who is one of the most evil characters of all the Shakespeare plays I know was played with firm purpose and no remorse even as he is undone.
And the beguilling Reilly played Desdemona as naturally flirtatious but with an innocence that helps steal the element of tragedy.
I was gripped from the moment the actors burst onto the stage until they took their final bow. It was such a great play to start the year.
Tickets are apparently going for £600 on ebay and I can understand why, but I wouldn't have sold mine for double that.
Oh and if all that wasn't enough, Richard E Grant and Richard Curtis were both in the audience and David Oyelowo who played Danny in Spooks was sat right behind me.
Went to see the latest Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor vehicle today and really enjoyed it. It's a girly flick and I admit I did get a bit teary but hey, even animal hospital gets me going so it doesn't mean a great deal.
However there was one thing that disturbed me throughout the film and it is related to Renee's chipmunk face or rather the colour of it.
It may have been bad lighting. It may also have been that under some obscure rules, in order to enjoy the tax benefits of filming on the Isle of Man, only a YTS make up artist could be employed. Her face, and just her face, looked like it had either been slapped in fake tan or the foundation was two shades too dark and badly applied. I just pulled these pictures from the web and there are some on the official website which I think illustrate what I'm talking about.
