What prevents your city/town from being the best place in the country to live?
Submitted by Cherney. It is the best place to live - in the world. It's London for goodness sake. I mean just on my way to work everyday I get to see this unique and stunning piece of architecture
And this
It has the best theatre, cinema's, restaurants, pubs, architecture, comedy, music, museums great open spaces and a public transport system that kinda works. What more could you ask for?
But then I am biased because I can't imagine living anywhere else.
In Twilight when Edward is showing Bella his room she puts his CD player on to see what he's listening to and it's Debussy, which got me thinking; if he'd had his guilty pleasure CD on say, oh I don't know, Take That Greatest Hits or Simply Red or something how it could have totally destroyed his street cred.
And it also got me thinking that if someone I wanted to impress put my CD player on what would make me cringe with embarrassment and what I'd really want them to find on there.
For the former there are tons. Daniel Bedingfield would be quite embarrassing, so would Abba Gold and Eurythmics Greatest Hits. Oh god and then there's my sneaky little Justin Timberlake.
As to what I'd want them to find well Janis Joplin wouldn't be too shabby or early REM (pre Out of Time) or early Nirvana. Beruit would be quite cool and Radiohead In Rainbows or PJ Harvey and The Shins.
And throwing it back out there, what would be your cringe/cool?
Following on from my last answer to the QOTW I thought I'd look up Showaddywaddy on YouTube. It's a miracle my musical taste developed as well as it did.
People under the age of 25 should look away now.
Yep I've jumped on it and bought artist-du-jour Duffy's Rockferry. And I love it. She's got a lovely voice and yes the sound is very reminiscent of a lot of 60s female singers but, well, I love it. It's sunny Sunday mornings and rainy Sunday nights all rolled into one.
This is a particularly favourite which she performed on Later With Jools Holland:
OK so I could have bought Radiohead's In Rainbows for 5p months ago. (Actually I probably would have paid a fiver, but that's just the sort of person I am). But I wasn't very organised and ended up buying it on iTunes a few weeks back for £7.99 after my brother Derren raved about it being their best album, the equivalent to the White Album for the Beatles was how he described it.
A couple of songs immediately attached and as I've listened to it more the rest has gradually grown on me. And then two days ago I had that moment when the whole thing just clicks and you feel it rather than just listen to it. Which sound flakey but I offer no apologies for that.
Now I can't stop listening to it and choosing a favourite track is impossible but this one is up there.
Is it their best album? That's a tricky one. I don't like everything they've ever done but I like a lot of it. This one is quite as sophisticated in its sound as Hail to the Thief and OK Computer but it isn't as raw as Pablo Honey and The Bends. Derren says it has the best elements of all their albums. I sort of agree although I loathe Kid A and Amnesiac but I don't think I can say hand on heart that I think it is their best album ever. Equally which one is, I couldn't say either. It is certainly a return to form though.

Music-wise, what was the first 45, single or download you bought?
Submitted by Paddy Melt Wagon.
It was this song on vinyl, because it was 1984.
What's the best music documentary or concert film you've seen?
If Mosh was answering this, he'd say Spinal Tap.
One I have seen, and with Mosh too in one of his very rare trips to the cinema, is Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, which I really enjoyed. I'm not as big a fan of the band as Mosh but I couldn't help welling-up at the end when their usual intro was playing at the first big, live gig after nearly splitting up. (Mosh looked a bit watery-eyed too!)
It was interesting to see the actual people behind the heavy metal rock star persona's, particularly when they were in group therapy.
And I shall never forget the scene where lead singer James Hetfield is shown going to pick his daughter up from her ballet lesson and he's sat at the side of the class in jeans, t-shirt, tattoo's and tash waiting with all the primped, posh Mum's and nannies. Very rock n' roll.
Show us your favorite local band.

London being the hot bed of talent that it is, there is plenty to choose from. Or there would be if I actually followed the 'local' band scene. But I don't. But I can post this track from the marvellous Brian Jacket Let Down who I haven't seen live yet but I have their album and they are from London and they aren't a big band...yet, so I'm hoping they sort of count.
I love them mainly for their lyrics which silly but up-lifting because of it.
Led Zeppelin will finally offer their music online starting next month. Of the music you buy, about how much of it do you download and how much do you buy on physical formats (CDs, vinyl, etc.)?
I've very quickly converted to digital, mainly because I'm impatient. If I come across some music I like on the web or someone recommends something or I like the music in a film I've just seen I can buy it and be listening to it within 10 minutes.
Then there is the fact that I'm an iPod junkie.
I've also run out of space on the two shelves allocated for CD's
